i love to make things to eat. i love to make things that will fortify and nourish, like hearty crusty bread, ribbons of papardelle, clouds of ricotta, but i also love to make beautiful treats like chocolate-covered caramels or the perfect little cookie. i love to grow vegetables and herbs and stand in my garden when it’s getting dark in the summer just munching whatever is at hand. i love recipes that take more than a week, i love trading bread i made for plums from my neighbors’ tree.
